Daniel Greenfield, The Point: US Sheikh Who Inspired London Terrorist Preached Hatred And Knifing of Non-Muslims

My name is Daniel Greenfield. I am a blogger and columnist born in Israel and living in Los Angeles. I am a  Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

My original biweekly column appears at Front Page Magazine and my blog articles regularly appear at Family Security Matters, theJewish PressTimes of IsraelAct for America and Right Side News, as well as daily at the Canada Free Press and a number of other outlets. I have a column titled Western Front at Israel National News and my op eds have also appeared in the New York Sun, the Jewish Press and at FOX Nation.

I was named one of the Jewish Press' Most Worthwhile Blogs from 2006-2011 and my writing has been cited by Rush Limbaugh, Melanie Philips, Robert Spencer, Daniel Pipes, Judith Klinghoffer, John Podhoretz, Jeff Jacoby and Michelle Malkin, among others.

My investigative pieces have included the story of Obama and Pfleger, which I was the first to break months before the mainstream media. I also detailed for the first time many of Obama's radical clergy ties, including Farrakhan supporters, as well as exposing Rabbis for Obama as being a front group forPro-Hamas appeasement supporters.

I revealed that the Vice-President of the Center for American Progress and the new senior adviser for Nancy Pelosi hadparticipated in terrorist fundraising and broke the story of how Ron Paul and Barney Frank had tried to put Soros' associates in charge of destroying America's military.

I have investigated the billionaires funding the Anti-Israel left, the Islamist misogyny, in the new French government, Iran's meth empire , the coverup of Islamic genocide in Nigeria and the lost history of Harlem's Black Hitler. I broke the story of the Secretary of State recognizing a terrorist propagandist with an award as one of the International Women of Courage and exposed the falsehoods in Prince of Slaves, a Muslim propaganda film aired on PBS. I investigated the ties of theDurham torture Dems to Anti-Israel and Pro-Saddam activism and the Islamist ties of Al Queda's Congressman.

The scope of my writing covers everything from domestic American politics to creeping Islamism in Scotland and how foreign aid makes its way into the hands of terrorists to white aborigines in AustraliaIslamist Imams in Libya,  flogging in the Maldives and the hunt for witches in the Muslim world.

About David Horowitz Freedom Center

OUR MISSION: The DHFC is dedicated to the defense of free societies whose moral, cultural and economic foundations are under attack by enemies both secular and religious, at home and abroad.
The David Horowitz Freedom Center combats the efforts of the radical left and its Islamist allies to destroy American values and disarm this country as it attempts to defend itself in a time of terror.  The leftist offensive is most obvious on our nation’s campuses, where the Freedom Center protects students from indoctrination and intimidation and works to give conservative students a place in the marketplace of ideas from which they are otherwise excluded.  Combining forceful analysis and bold activism, the Freedom Center provides strong insight into today’s most pressing issue on its family of websites and in the activist campaigns it wages on campus, in the news media, and in national politics throughout the year.
David Horowitz began the Center for the Study of Popular Culture in 1988 to establish a conservative presence in Hollywood and show how popular culture had become a political battleground. Over the next 18 years, CSPC attracted 50,000 contributing supporters and established programs such as The Wednesday Morning Club, the Individual Rights Foundation, and Students for Academic Freedom
FrontPage Magazine, the Center’s online journal of news and political commentary has 1.5 million visitors and over 870,000 unique visitors a month (65 million hits) and is linked to over 2000 other websites.  The magazine’s coverage of and commentary about events has been greatly augmented over the last two years by the presence of four  Shillman Fellows in Journalism underwritten by board member Dr. Robert Shillman. FrontPage has recently added a blog called “The Point,” run by Shillman Fellow Daniel Greenfield, which has tripled web traffic., launched in 2005, is the largest publicly accessible database defining the chief groups and individuals of the Left and their organizational interlocks.  It is a full service encyclopedia of the left providing an intellectual diagram of its institutional power in American culture and politics. DTN has had more than 8 million visitors so far this year and is a key resource for students, scholars and members of the media.
Since 2003, the Center has promoted an Academic Bill of Rights to support students’ academic freedom, and free the American university from political indoctrination and renew its commitment to true intellectual diversity. This campaign has had a permanent impact on American higher education.
In 2007, the Center undertook an unprecedented national campaign to create a national “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.”  Speeches, panels, and informational films were presented on 106 college campuses, along with “sit-ins” to protest the oppression of women in Islam.  It was the largest conservative college student demonstration in American history and was a topic of discussion on 700,000 websites, in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Pakistani Star Tribune, the Iran News Agency, in college papers across the country and on half a dozen national TV shows reaching an audience in the millions.
The Center held four other Islamo-Fascism Awareness Weeks in 2008-2009 and has had at least one major campaign on campuses across the country since.  The subjects have included the Muslim Students Association’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood; “Wall of Lies” (a rejoinder to pro Palestinians groups’ slander of Israel); and a counter campaign against the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.  Freedom Center Students, an online hub for conservative students to receive support in the way of intellectual ammunition, access to speakers, and connect with fellow students fighting the battle for freedom at other campuses.
In 2006, the Center’s Board of Directors decided to change the name of the organization to the David Horowitz Freedom Center and should adopt the following formal mission statement:  “The Defense of Free Societies.”  The Center is currently supported by over 90,000 Americans.
The Freedom Center now includes several other programs, Jihad Watch, The Israel Security Project, and TruthRevolt.  Jihad Watch, run by author Robert Spencer, is a watch dog site that traces the efforts of Islamic radicals in their terror campaign abroad and their efforts at home to infiltrate and subvert Western institutions and civic life and is the most popular website of its kind.  Caroline Glick, an editor and syndicated columnist for the Jerusalem Post and a former captain of the Israel Defense Forces and onetime Foreign Policy Advisor to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, is the director of the Israel Security Project.  Reporting from Jerusalem, she adds an authoritative voice to the Freedom Center’s coverage of the Mideast conflict.  TruthRevolt is our newest program, run by Shillman Senior Fellow Ben Shapiro.  Its goal is to unmask leftists in the media for who they are, destroy their credibility with the American Public, and devastate their funding bases.

After the latest Muslim terror attack, the usual media messaging has gone forth. The killers had shouted, "This is for Islam" and "This is for Allah". Politicians and the media insist it had nothing to do with Islam.
A former friend of the terrorist, who was shot dead by police along with two accomplices, claimed he had been radicalised while watching YouTube videos and said he contacted the authorities after becoming concerned over his friend’s extremist views.
The friend told the BBC’s Asian Network that the terrorist had been radicalised watching videos of the infamous American hate preacher Ahmad Musa Jibril.
So it's another case of what counter-terrorism expert Patrick Poole calls the "Known Wolf".
Ahmad Musa Jibril is a very well known figure. He operated out of Dearborn, Michigan. And a past article on Front Page Magazine by Evan Kohlmann profiled him in great detail.
Jibril was born in the United States, but spent part of his childhood in Saudi Arabia while his father was a student at the Islamic University of Medina.  After returning to the United States and graduating from high school in 1989, Ahmad resumed his studies abroad in Saudi Arabia, eventually receiving a degree in Islamic Sharia...
In the late 1990s, from their Michigan home, Ahmad Jibril and his father created a now-notorious Islamic Internet website known as  Among other items, the site featured a remarkable library of fanatic sermons, including speeches on the subject of jihad by Shaykh Abdullah Azzam (the late co-founder of Al-Qaeda and spiritual mentor to Osama Bin Laden) and by Abdelrahman Al-Dosari (a.k.a. Abu Abdel Aziz “Barbaros”, deemed by the U.S. government to be a senior member of Al-Qaeda).
Since its inception, has also offered web visitors a number of English-language Islamic booklets, pamphlets, and poems dealing with the subject of jihad.  One file, titled “Jihad And Expedition in the Quran,” bluntly urged sympathetic readers to “[w]age a holy war.”[4]  Another posting, a poem labeled simply “AL-JIHAD,” cautioned:
“Yes, you’re neither Sheikh Osama [Bin Laden] nor Mullah Umar, but, don’t forget you’re a[n] Ummat of fighter Apostle.  Why are you waiting go and thrust in the lines of enemies and have them crushed.  Hit them on the neck and send them to hell… Give them a knife and a bulletful of gun… Fight, Fight & Fight, it must be our aim.”
Ahmad Jibril frequently posted messages and updates—many of which were explicitly signed by Jibril himself—on AlSalafyoon’s public forum under the Administrator login account “Alsalaf.”  In July 2000, an individual using the Administrator account (presumably Ahmad Jibril), posted a new discussion titled, “WE MUST HATE KAFERS [infidels]!”[6] The message read:
“You[r] heart must contain nothing but HATE to all kafers [infidels]...Not just plain hate it must be the peak of hate...Even if the kafer never did anything personal to us…even if he is a mere couch potate[sic] who reads the paper and sleeps and works, he is kafer alone makes him an enemy to us and we must hate him for that…The answer is clear yes Islam was spread by the sword.”
Nothing to do with Islam. Of course.
As the result of his Saudi indoctrination, Ahmad Jibril became a disciple and strong supporter of militant Islamic clerics from the Arabian Gulf, including Shaykh Salman Al-Awdah, who Jibril has referred to as a “Great Imam & Scholar… [who] boldly confronted the American presence in [Saudi Arabia]… may Allah reward him the peak of heaven!”  In an interview with journalist Peter Arnett, Osama Bin Laden lauded Al-Awdah as a personal hero and cited him as a direct inspiration for taking up “my duty of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong.”
Al-Awdah is a member of Qaradawi's International Union for Muslim Scholars. When he visited the UK, he spoke to 20,000 Muslims.
His fame had become sufficiently widespread by 2006 to draw a crown of around 20,000 young British Muslims in London's East End whom he addressed in a speech. "Dr. al-Ouda is well known by all the youth. It's almost a celebrity culture out there," according to one British Imam.
And, oh yes, he believes Jews drink blood.
A prominent Saudi Arabian religious cleric declared that the Holocaust is an "exaggeration" and that Jewish people consume the blood of children during a wide-ranging interview with an Arabic television station.
Saudi cleric Salman Al-Odeh, a well-known scholar revered by millions globally, went on a lengthy tirade against the Jews during an interview Monday in which he stated that "the role of the Jews is to wreak destruction, to wage war, and to practice deception and extortion," according to a translation of his remarks by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
Jibril also is not fond of Jews.
The researchers cited federal prosecutors’ special memorandum filed at the time of Jibril’s sentencing, including details about a radical web site Jibril operated at the time that “contained a library of fanatically anti-American sermons by militant Islamic clerics.”
Lectures “turned into angry rants about Western crimes against Muslims and he peppered his talk with invectives against Shi’a Muslims and called on Allah to turn Jewish children into orphans.”
Nothing to do with Islam. Not a single thing.
