Irish poll: 36% would prefer Ireland to be ruled under Sharia law

Muslims give their blessing: Vast majority very happy here, says poll

Quote:

An opinion poll carried out for the Irish Independent/RTE Primetime on Muslim attitudes - the first of its kind carried out here - reveals an extremely high level of tolerance among Muslims living in Ireland.

It found 73pc believe they are fully integrated into Irish society, with 77pc saying they feel accepted here.

But the poll, which was carried out by Lansdowne Market Research, shows a minority of the Muslim community hold more extreme views.

More than a third (36pc) would prefer Ireland to be ruled under Sharia law, while 37pc would like Ireland to be governed as an Islamic state. The survey shows Muslim youths hold the strongest views within the Islamic community on politics and religion.

It found 28pc of young Muslims aged between 16 and 26 believe violence for political ends is sometimes justified.

More than half of young Muslims (57pc) believe Ireland should become an Islamic State.

Almost one-in-five (19pc) said they "respect" al-Qa'ida terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden - but the same number of those polled supported US President George Bush. However, the findings generally reveal strong liberal opinions among Irish-based Muslims.

The majority (58pc) say they would be prepared to give up parts of their religion or culture if it conflicts with Irish law.

But traditions are still hugely important for Muslims. A huge majority (82pc) are opposed to any restrictions on women wearing the hijab, or Islamic veil, to work or school.

On the question of marriage, the poll reveals more than 58pc of Muslims would have no objections to a son marrying an Irish Catholic.

Almost a third (30pc) of those polled have no problem with children being raised in marriages with mixed religious influences.

According to the 2002 census, there were 19,147 Muslims living in Ireland, with males (61pc) outnumbering females (39pc) and more than half (51pc) living in Dublin. However, Ireland's Islamic population is now estimated to be almost 40,000.

Poll: 71% of German Muslims, 80% of French Muslims and 82% of British Muslims remain faithful to their countries of origin

From ANSAmed:

ISLAM: 80% FRENCH MUSLIMS FAITHFUL TO COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
(ANSAmed) - PARIS, MAY 8 - Some 80% of Muslims in France believe they remain faithful to their countries of origin, according to a survey by the American Gallup research institute that questioned a sample of Muslims in 27 countries. In all 8% said they were not faithful to their original countries and 12% did not reply. The research also showed that in Britain Muslims "loyal" to their original countries amount to 82% and in Germany the figure is 71%. The survey published yesterday but carried out in 2008 adds that only 44% of French of other religions believe that are faithful to their country against 35% who believe the contrary and 21% who didn't reply.

...

The poll, carried out with the support of the Coexist Foundation, a British charity that promotes inter-religious relations, covered a sample of 500 Muslims per country. The samples of people from other religions varied from 100 to 1000 people in size.(ANSAmed).

Domestic Violence Awareness Month – India

From MensNewsDaily:

Domestic Violence Awareness Month – India
Wednesday, September 30, 2009
Uma Challa
Link

October is “Domestic Violence Awareness Month”. India is observing “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” for the first time this year to make it an International event for all men’s rights and fathers’ rights groups across the world.

Four organizations in Hyderabad viz. Save Indian Family Foundation, All India Forgotten Women, Rishtey and Children’s Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting, are launching this campaign on 2 October because it is the International Day of Non-Violence, an occasion meant for disseminating the message of non-violence through education and public awareness.

Beginning 2 October, our month-long campaign will focus on educating the Indian public about how the problem of domestic violence has, for decades, been misrepresented, how domestic violence has been commercialized, and how Indian laws claiming to prevent domestic violence are actually promoting domestic violence and human rights abuses against men, women and children. We will also urge lawmakers and the Government to make appropriate reforms in laws and policies and make gender neutral provisions to end domestic violence against men, women and children.

The truth about domestic violence

Unbiased research on domestic violence the world over shows that:

1.Domestic Violence is not a gender issue.
2.Men and children are victims too.
3.Women are just as likely as men to commit domestic violence.
4.Women initiate domestic violence just as frequently as men do.
5.Men and children are less likely to report the incident when they are abused by their wives/girlfriends and mothers respectively.
6.Women’s organizations spread myths about domestic violence (e.g. Men are always the aggressors and women are always the victims).
7.Media coverage is often biased (e.g. A young married woman committing suicide is automatically reported as dowry death, and a young married man committing suicide is attributed to financial/family problems or mysterious reasons).
8.Politicians and bureaucrats find no incentive in addressing domestic violence by women against men, children and fellow women.

Indian laws against domestic violence

Indian laws against domestic violence are irrational and discriminatory, and blatantly violate provisions of the Indian Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

• The Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaims that “everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.”

But Indian laws against domestic violence presume that the accused is guilty until proven innocent and violate universal principles of fair trial.

• Article 21 of the Indian Constitution states that “no person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law”.

But every year, over 1 lakh innocent persons (one innocent person every 5 minutes) are arrested under IPC Section 498A, including 4,000 innocent senior citizens (one innocent elderly person every 2.5 hours) and 350 children (one child per day) without evidence or investigation.

• The Universal Declaration of Human rights states that “all are equal before the law, and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law”. Article 14 of the Indian Constitution declares that “The State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India.”

But Indian laws against domestic violence blatantly deny protection to men against any form of domestic abuse, and every year, over 56,000 married men commit suicide due to verbal, emotional, economic and physical abuse and legal harassment.

• Indian laws against domestic violence are touted as tools for women’s protection and empowerment.

But in the last four years alone, over 1,23,497 women have been arrested under IPC Section 498A alone, without evidence or investigation, not for committing any crime under law, but only because they were related to a man.

The Domestic Violence Industry

In India, domestic violence against wives is addressed by close to 15 laws (civil and criminal) including the infamous IPC Section 498A and Protection of Women Against Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA). However, there are no laws to protect husbands, children and other family members of the husband from domestic violence by wives. The credit goes to the Domestic Violence Industry and its stakeholders (women’s organizations, law enforcement machinery, legal fraternity, politicians and bureaucrats) whose survival depends on inciting and fueling a gender war, spreading myths and false statistics about domestic violence, encouraging false allegations, breaking families, and siphoning funds in the name of women’s empowerment from National and International funding agencies.

If the problem of domestic violence is solved, would not the booming Domestic Violence Industry, which is immune to all vagaries of the economy, suddenly go bankrupt? It is no wonder that as more and more draconian and inhuman laws are passed under the guise of protection of women, we keep hearing that domestic violence against women is increasing, instead of decreasing.

Consequently, Indian taxpayers have spent lakhs to implement draconian laws and policies in the country. And the verdict is clear – these laws and policies:

 Trample on Constitutional Protections and Human Rights.
 Hurt men, women and children.
 Divert limited funds away from the real victims.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities

Save Indian Family Foundation, All India Forgotten Women, Rishtey and Children’s Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting are organizing a campaign in Hyderabad (1) to spread awareness on “The Truth About Domestic Violence and Indian Domestic Violence Laws”, and (2) to urge lawmakers and the Government to reform the present discriminatory laws, and make gender-neutral provisions for the benefit of men, women, children, families and the society.

Our month-long campaign in Hyderabad includes the following activities:

October 2 – Press Conference to mark the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

October 11 - Launch of All India Men’s Welfare Association (AIMWA) for protection of men and boys against gender discrimination, domestic violence, sexual harassment and other forms of abuse.

October 18 - Cultural program to spread awareness regarding the truth about domestic violence, and launch of Andhra Pradesh Mothers-in-law Protection Association (APMPA) for protection of mothers-in-law against discrimination, domestic violence, legal harassment and other forms of abuse.

October 25 – National Rally in Bangalore marking the third anniversary of the inhuman, ill-conceived Protection of Women Against Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA) as BLACK DAY.

We will also be doing a massive flier campaign across the city throughout the month.

Similar activities will be conducted in other cities across the country like Bangalore, Lucknow, Chattisgarh, Nagpur and Delhi.

Anti-islamiseringsfonden

Klicka här för att besöka hemsidan:

Anti-islamiseringsfonden

CAMERA`s formal letter to Aftonbladet editor-in-chief Jan Helin regarding Donald Boström`s article

Here is the link to the item by CAMERA found below and the original article by Donald Boström can be read here in the original Swedish or here.

From CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America):

Sweden's Aftonbladet Spreads Libels, Bigotry
October 15, 2009 by Andrea Levin

No recent media infraction captures the dangers of abandoning journalistic standards as vividly as the August 17, 2009 Aftonbladet story alleging Israel plunders and trafficks Palestinian organs. Appearing in its Culture section, the account was a concoction of baseless innuendo, false charges and guilt-by-association conspiracy theory, weaving disconnected events from past and present. Within weeks, the claims metastisized in Middle East media into lurid variations on the old blood libel of Jews plundering organs and drinking the blood of non-Jews. Incendiary cartoons and fantastic stories of Jewish child-snatching appeared.

CAMERA had Fedexed and emailed a formal letter (reproduced below) to editor Jan Helin detailing ten of the major errors and omissions in reporter Donald Bostrom's article and urging corrections to set the record straight and halt the spread of the libelous charges.

Helin, however, failed to respond to the letter and to calls inquiring about the status of the communication.

On October 15, the Wall Street Journal in its European edition published an account of the Aftonbladet affair and its aftermath.

The question is will Jan Helin and fellow editor Asa Linderborg, in whose Culture section the story appeared, take the essential steps now to begin redressing the lies they've unleashed. First among the measures is to issue a full, forthright series of corrections of the blatant errors of fact printed. News consumers should be aware that if Aftonbladet does not set the record straight and demostrate its adherence to the norms of journalism — even at this late hour — there is probably little else on any topic in the publication that can be trusted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

September 11, 2009

Jan Helin, Editor
Aftonbladet
Arenavägen 63
105 18 Stockholm,
Sweden

Dear Mr. Helin,

Like many Americans, we at CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) are deeply troubled by Donald Bostrom's incendiary, distorted story of August 17, 2009 ("Our Sons Are Plundered of Their Organs") which contains multiple factual errors.

You have said in response to the widespread criticism of your newspaper: "I'm a responsible editor who gave the green light to the publication of an article because it asks a number of relevant questions." Asa Linderborg is quoted in Ha'aretz as saying she "had many discussions on whether to publish the article or not, and to the best of my knowledge there are no facts there that are incorrect." (Aug 20, 2009)

We assume both you as a responsible editor and Ms. Linderborg with an interest in correct information adhere to accepted journalistic standards requiring factual accuracy, and that when your newspaper prints demonstrably false distorted statements you publish forthright, prominent and complete corrections.

Indeed, there are, as enumerated below, numerous material errors and distortions to be found in Donald Bostrom's account which require correction. The errors concern three general aspects of the article:

• The presentation of events related to Bilal Ahmed Ghanem

• The characterization of Israeli medical policy with regard to organ donation/transplants

• False linkages and conspiracy-mongering
Bostrom makes numerous specific assertions that are false and he presents other broader charges that are equally baseless and unsupported by evidence. He misrepresents sources cited, uses anachronistic, irrelevant information central to his (unsubstantiated) thesis and strings together disconnected events to insinuate connections across time and geography in the classic mode of conspiracy theorists. Other than one line by an un-named Israeli military spokesman, he fails to include rebuttal from those accused of serious misconduct. Any one of these violations of journalistic norms and basic fair-play would be grounds for reader concern; taken together they explain the global outcry against your newspaper.

We know that, as in America, Swedish media operate under ethical guidelines. Sweden's "Code of Ethics for the Press, Radio and Television" (http://www.mediator.online.bt/eng/echics/sweden.htm) calls for "accurate and objective news" and requires reporters to "check facts as carefully as possible." The Code states that "factual errors are to be corrected." Likewise, those being criticized in a report are to be given the opportunity to "reply to the criticism."

We assume you subscribe to all such journalistic fundamentals and hope you will consider the concerns here in light of these norms. We'd ask that you review the information below and act promptly to correct the errors and distortions identified:

A. Bilal Ahmed Ghanem and the organ-theft charges

1) Bilal Ghanem erroneously characterized as a "stone-thrower"

Regarding Bilal Ghanem, the reporter states that he was "wanted" by Israel because he was a "stone-thrower." Bostrom writes:

"One example that I encountered on this eerie trip was the young stone-thrower Bilal Achmed Ghanem."
....
"Bilal Ahmed Ghanem, one of the most active Palestinian stone-throwing youths who made life difficult for the Israeli occupiers."
...

"As one of the leading stone-throwers, Bilal Ghanem had been wanted by the military for a couple of years. Together with other stone-throwing boys he hid in the Nablus mountains, with no roof over his head. Getting caught meant torture and death for these boys..."

The same erroneous depiction of Ghanem is included in Afatonbladet's follow-up story by Oisin Cantwell and Urban Andersson on August 23, 2009. They state:

"Put another way: Bilal Ahmed Ghanem was wanted on suspicion of having been one of the leading stone throwers of the West Bank during the first intifada in the late 1980's."

Contrary to Bostrom and his colleagues, news reports from May 1992 as well as a recent account by Jerusalem Post Arab affairs correspondent Khaled Abu Toameh ("Palestinian family; We didn't say organs taken," August 24, 2009), Ghanem was not a mere "stone-throwing" boy, but was sought by Israel for involvement in serious, violent activity – against other Palestinians.

A Jerusalem Post story from May 14, 1992 states:

"Soldiers yesterday shot and killed Bilal Ghanem, 20, a fugitive since July 1991, after cornering him in the village of Imatin, near Nablus. Ghanem had been suspected of kidnapping and violently interrogating alleged informers, the IDF announcement said."

"The IDF said that Ghanem was shot and seriously wounded after he tried to flee, and died later of his wounds. Villagers were quoted as saying that Ghanem had been working near his home when he passed an abandoned house and was shot at by undercover soldiers hiding inside."

An Agence France Presse report from May 13, 1992 says :

"Plainclothes members of an Israeli military ‘special unit' shot and killed a 20-year-old Palestinian in his village on the West Bank Wednesday...

Palestinian sources later reported that Bilal Ramin [sic], who had been sought by Israeli police for the past 18 months, was killed when the special unit opened fire from an abandoned house in the village of Umm al-Tineh [Imatin]."

"He was wanted in connection with kidnappings and harassment of other Palestinians from the Israeli-occupied territories."

Journalist Khaled Abu Toameh in a recent article states of Ghanem (August 24, 2009):

"He was a Fatah activist who was wanted for involvement in violence."

Bostrom gives no hint that Ghanem was being tracked in the context of Israel seeking to halt a deadly upsurge in killing of Palestinians by Palestinian gangs, such as Fatah's Black Panthers and others. In May of 1992, an epidemic of so-called collaborator killings was underway in the West Bank and Gaza. As the Christian Science Monitor ( May 20, 1992) reported, "In the first four months of this year 93 alleged collaborators died, a 30 percent increase over the same period in 1991."

The killings were notably brutal; victims were often kidnapped, then murdered with axes, knives and guns, or by hanging – often after extreme torture. Most victims were not informants at all; they were nurses, doctors, civil servants or others who had ordinary contact with Israelis. Often victims were killed to settle personal scores.

Nablus, near Bilal Ghanem's village of Imatin, had been a hub of such activity. A May 17, 1992 report in Newsday told of the Israeli army launching manhunts for gang members and saying the defense forces faced "a more dangerous foe these days." The Israeli commander in the area, Maj. Gen. Danny Yatom, referred to a "hard core" of Palestinian gang members who were on the loose and engaged in attacks on other Palestinians and said: "It is against them that we are acting."

Mr. Bostrom's characterization of Bilal Achmed Ghanem as a stone-throwing youngster is inaccurate and highly deceptive, and needs to be corrected. Israel was not pursuing a mere "stone-thrower." Ghanem was wanted for violence against other Palestinians at a time when such activity had reached brutal levels and was endemic in the area.

It should be noted that Ms. Linderborg repeats Bostrom's error in her column of August 21, 2009. ("Examine Israel")

The Aftonbladet correction should reflect that Donald Bostrom, Asa Linderborg, Oisin Cantwell and Urban Andersson wrongly characterized Bilal Ghanem's activity.

2) Palestinian casualty statistics for 1992 falsely reported

Related to the error about Bostrom's activity is the erroneous statistic regarding Palestinian fatalities in 1992. Bostrom writes:

"Bilal Ghanem was one of 133 Palestinians killed in various ways that year."

This is incorrect. There were at least another 223 Palestinians killed – by other Palestinians – as of December 8, 1992, according to the New York Times of that date. Again, this was a time of extreme Palestinian-on-Palestinian violence. The number 223 must be added to the 133 killed by Israel for a minimum total of 356 Palestinians killed.

The "various ways that year" Palestinians died cannot obviously omit the greatest cause of death for that community – killing inflicted by fellow Palestinians.

This needs to be corrected for the record. Ms. Linderborg included the error as well in her August 21, 2009 column and this needs correction.

3) Unsubstantiated linkage drawn between 1992 Israeli organ donor campaign and alleged abductions of Palestinians

Please provide evidence for Bostrom's unsubstantiated claim that concurrent with and – by clear implication – related to a campaign in Israel aimed at enlisting citizens to sign up as future organ-donors, Palestinians started disappearing. This appears to be an entirely speculative and unfounded allegation.

Bostrom writes that in 1992 Ehud Olmert launched the donor campaign and that it was a success, but that the demand exceeded supply. He then reports:

"While the campaign was running, young Palestinian men started to disappear from villages in the West Bank and Gaza" and then "after five days Israeli soldiers would bring them back dead, with their bodies ripped open."

He writes elsewhere:

"On assignment for a television network, I then traveled around interviewing a great number of Palestinian families in the West Bank and Gaza – meeting parents who said their sons had been robbed of organs before being killed."

What is Bostrom's proof for the elements of the sweeping allegations of nefarious linkage and macabre killing? Who are the men who "started to disappear" and who were returned "after five days" in the condition described? What are their full names and addresses? What are the circumstances of their alleged disappearances that demonstrate the connection to the organ campaign in Israel?

Regarding the Israeli medical role in this alleged scheme, who participated, where and when in removing and using the stolen organs as suggested? What is the proof of the implied linkage to the Israeli organ donation campaign among Israelis? What are the names, places and other essential details showing the alleged ties?

If the reporter's insinuation of a sinister connection between a normal civic campaign in Israel aimed at improving a health need for the public – and Palestinian deaths in the West Bank and Gaza – cannot be directly, specifically, concretely and unambiguously proven, this needs to be corrected for the record as an uncorroborated, highly inflammatory charge that should never have been printed.

4) Statements by Bilal Ghanem's family falsely characterized

Bostrom indicates the family of Bilal Ghanem, supposedly like those of other families, believed in 1992 that their son had been killed for his organs. The reporter states:

"Bilal was not, by far, the first young Palestinian to be buried with a slit from his abdomen up to his chin. The families in the West Bank and Gaza felt that they knew exactly what had happened: ‘Our sons are used as involuntary organ donors...'" [emphasis added]

Yet, according to Khaled Abu Toameh, in an August 24, 2009 report, Bilal's mother and another relative state they never made any such allegation at the time, and the brother says they have no evidence any such action was taken. Abu Toameh reports that;

"The mother [Sadeeka Ghanem] denied that she had told any foreign journalist that her son's organs had been stolen."

"Ibrahim Ghanem, a relative of Bilal, said that the family never told the Swedish photographer that Israel had stolen organs from the dead man's body."

"Ghanem's younger brother, Jalal, said he could not confirm the allegations made by the Swedish newspaper that his brother's organs had been stolen."

Bostrom's apparent invention of contemporaneous accusations by the Ghanem's against Israel is among the many serious misrepresentations in the article. The record needs to show that Donald Bostrom erroneously reported that Bilal Ghanem's family claimed in 1992 that Bilal had been subjected to organ theft. This is inaccurate according to current statements by the family members involved.

The Ghanem family's recent calls for an investigation do not have any bearing on the misreporting of their views at the time of the events Bostrom describes.

5) Inaccurate photo caption alleges Ghanem "cut up" in hospital

Bostrom's photo accompanying the first page of his story includes a caption stating:

"Young Palestinian men throwing stones and bottles at Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank. In this area, Bilal Achmed Ghanem was shot to death and cut up in a hospital. ‘Our sons are being used as organ reserves,' claim the Palestinians."

But elsewhere, Bostrom reports Ghanem being taken to Abu Kabir for autopsy:

"A villager recognized Captain Yahya, the leader of the military column who had transported Bilal from the autopsy center Abu Kabir, outside of Tel Aviv, to his final resting place."

There has been no claim that we see of Ghanem being "cut up in a hospital." This too needs to be corrected formally on the record.

B. Israeli medical policy regarding organ donation and transplantation

Key Israeli legislation ("The Organ Transplant Law" 2008) omitted

Related to the various serious errors and distortions in Bostrom's characterizing of Israeli medical policies is his omission of a sweeping and stringent new Israeli law governing organ transplantation passed eighteen months ago (March 2008). The legislation had been under discussion and development for six years and had been reported on extensively in the media.

It prohibits anyone from paying or receiving compensation for organs. It bans a person's selling his/her own organs. It bans the sale of organs from the dead as well as the living. It minutely defines what is meant by "compensation" to prevent any loopholes. Thus, not only direct cash payment is illegal, but material gifts, burial costs, payment to a third party, and more.

No longer does Israeli insurance cover the cost of transplants and post-operative care if the organs are not from relatives, altruistic donors or dead donors. That is, there is no coverage for people purchasing organs for transplant. In this last respect, the law is tougher than that in the US, which allows for insurance coverage of post-op treatment.
Harvard Doctor deplores Aftonbladet reporting

Harvard Doctor deplores Aftonbladet reporting

Dr. Frances Delmonico of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School who is quoted by Bostrom told me on August 27, 2009 that he was aware of having been mentioned in the Aftonbladet story and that the claims made there are contrary to all his experience in working with Israeli doctors whom he termed "noble and caring physicians."He said the allegations by Bostrom were not in "keeping with the character of the doctors" he knows and that he "rejects the charges." He said, moreover, that "Bostrom has a responsibility to validate his assertions or withdraw them."

Regrettably, Aftonbladet neglected to contact Dr. Delmonico, an international expert on organ transplantion, about the lurid claims being made by their reporter.

1) Israeli transplant law grossly misrepresented

Bostrom made various statements completely at odds with current facts about Israeli policy and law, including:

Half the kidneys transplanted to Israelis since the beginning of the 2000s have been bought illegally from Turkey, Eastern Europe or Latin America. Israeli health authorities have full knowledge of this business but do nothing to stop it. At a conference in 2003 it was shown that Israel is the only western country with a medical profession that doesn't condemn the illegal organ trade. The country takes no legal measures against doctors participating in the illegal business – on the contrary chief medical officers of Israel's big hospitals are involved in most of the illegal transplants, according to Dagens Nyheter (December 5, 2003).

He similarly charges:

"We know that Israel has a great need for organs, that there is a vast and illegal trade of organs which has been running for many years now, that the authorities are aware of it and that doctors in managing positions at the big hospitals participate, as well as civil servants at various levels."

• A detailed correction is required, spelling out that Bostrom has totally misrepresented current Israeli legal policy regarding the sale of organs and that the nation has one of the most stringent, if not the most stringent, laws in the world regarding this issue.

• The charge that Israel "has a great need for organs" and is engaged in "a vast and illegal trade of organs" is also grossly distorted. Israel had, before the enactment of its new law, typically accounted for 75 purchased kidneys for transplant per year in a global market involving 5,000-6,000 such yearly procedures, as Delmonico is quoted saying. That is, Israel was barely over 1% of the global phenomenon. How do 75 organ transplants, just over 1% of the total, constitute either a "great need for organs" or being engaged in "a vast" trade in such organs. Such distortions betray again the prejudice inherent in Bostrom's account. This too needs clear and forthright correction.

2) Israeli medical practice and physician conduct grossly distorted

A Dagans Nyheter story cited by Bostrom was taken almost verbatim from the English version of a Ha'aretz story of the same date (December 5, 2003) by Ran Reznick. That English account was, in turn, shortened from the original Hebrew version which offers substantially more detail on the subject at hand, underscoring a reality wholly absent from Bostrom's tale. What is clear in the Hebrew original is not that Israel's senior medical officials are a ruthless gang exploiting others for financial gain, but rather professionals grappling with a problem candidly and seeking to redress shortcomings in their field.

The gross misrepresentation of Israeli doctors is at odds with not only Dr. Delmonico's observations but with the well-known and widely-documented contributions of Israeli physicians to the curing of disease and the delivery of medical treatment to people in need throughout the world.

Sweden's journalistic code explicitly requires that reporters "be critical of news sources. Check facts as carefully as possible..." Yet Bostrom's charges drawn from Dagans Nyheter had gone from Hebrew to English to Swedish – and were, of course, six years old and obsolete in addition. Aftonbladet's unwarranted and reckless smearing of Israeli physicians as a group is one more distortion that requires correction.

4) False characterization of French policy towards Israel and Jerusalem Post story
Another related and apparently willful error concerns Bostrom's misrepresentation of a Jerusalem Post story. He states:

"Israel has repeatedly been under fire for its unethical ways of dealing with organs and transplants. France was among the countries that ceased organ collaboration with Israel in the nineties. The Jerusalem Post wrote that ‘the rest of the European countries are expected to follow France's example shortly.'"

This is false both as to the characterization of the Jerusalem Post story and the actual events that transpired. The Post did not report that France "ceased organ collaboration with Israel" due to "its unethical ways" as indicated here. The report by Judy Siegel in the June 29, 1992 Post states that France would have to bar organ transplants for Israelis because of Israel's "organ deficit" in the Eurotransplant organ coordinating center.

That is, Israel had not been able to donate a sufficient number of organs from Israelis to a general European pool to offset the number of Israelis receiving transplants in France and drawing from the pool. Bostrom neglects to mention the Post also noting: "Israel joins Italy, whose citizens also have been deprived of the opportunity to undergo organ transplants in France for the same reason."

France's suspension of organ collaboration with Israel – and Italy – had nothing to do with ethical impropriety, nor was there any such suggestion in the Post story.

Bostrom fails to tell readers about another piece of crucial information presented in the same story that would have served to undermine his tale of Israeli cruelty against Palestinians. In passing, the reporter writes: "Meanwhile, a 25-year-old woman from Khan Yunis [Gaza] who underwent a liver transplant at [Israel's] Beilinson Hospital on Saturday was still in critical but stable condition." Before a change in Palestinian Authority policy regarding health coverage, Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza received organ transplants in Israeli hospitals. The offhand reference by Siegel to the Khan Yunis patient is suggestive of this routine process – one hardly consistent with the diabolical depictions of Israel by the Aftonbladet reporter.

Further indication of Bostrom's deception on the matter of supposed French shunning of Israel is a December 1, 1994 Jerusalem Post news story by Judy Siegel telling of Israelis being accepted for liver transplants in France under a new agreement. It speaks as well of the agreement making possible the exchange of related information and expertise. The story notes Israelis were not being accepted in some European countries for transplants "because organs are set aside for their own nationals." Again, there was not a word about unethical medical practice.

Why did Aftonbladet convey the impression Israel had been ostracized by France and Europe in the organ transplant realm when this was not the case?

Why in any case did Aftonbladet rely on a long outdated, superseded and irrelevant 1992 story for a report in August 2009?

The blatant misrepresentation of the Post article and the false charges of unethical conduct by Israel require correction.

C) False linkages and conspiracy-mongering

Finally, beyond the errors cited as well as the omission of an Israeli law directly relevant to the incendiary charges leveled, there is also Bostrom's insinuation of nefarious connection between the arrest in New Jersey of a Jewish businessman involved in organ trafficking, the allegedly "unethical" practices of the Israeli medical establishment and the 17-year-old incident in the West Bank involving alleged "plundering" of organs from Bilal Ghanem. Such ugly innuendo, as many critics of the Bostrom article have noted, echoes historic blood libels against the Jews.

Most responsible newspapers avoid demonizing Jews (or any other group) and inciting negative sentiment about them. Our American constituents would be interested in knowing whether you feel Aftonbladet has a responsibility to address the broader impact of your journalistic assault on Israel and Jews in general, especially given your striking admission that you have no evidence for the inflammatory and gruesome charges of "illegal handling of the bodies" and "organ theft," (Aftonbladet, "These were weeks when the world went crazy" August 23, 2009 ).

We very much appreciate your reviewing this lengthy letter and look forward to your prompt attention to the urgent matters raised and to correction of the numerous material errors. To summarize these include:

1) Falsely identifying Bilal Ahmed Ghanem as wanted by Israel for being a mere "stone-thrower" when he was, in fact, a participant in the epidemic of so-called collaborator violence.

2) Falsely stating the casualty statistics of Palestinians for 1992 were "133 Palestinians killed in various ways that year" when there were a minimum of 356, most of whom were Palestinians killed by other Palestinians.

3) Falsely linking a 1992 organ-donor campaign in Israel with the alleged disappearance of Palestinians in the West Bank.

4) Falsely characterizing Bilal Ghanem's family members as having accused Israel in 1992 of stealing Bilal's organs.

5) Falsely stating that Bilal Ghanem was "cut up in a hospital."

6) Falsely characterizing Israel as having no prohibition against organ sales and that doctors openly engage in illegal activity, when the country has a stringent law against this practice.

7) Falsely characterizing Israel as having a huge demand for organs and as being engaged in a "vast" trade in organs, when Israel in recent years – before enactment of the organ transplant law – accounted for just over 1% of the trade in organs.

8) Falsely characterizing Israel's entire medical establishment as condoning illegal organ trading, when Israeli doctors were themselves working to expose problems and introduce legal reforms, which came to pass.

9) Falsely characterizing a Jerusalem Post story as having reported France broke off organ exchanges with Israel due to the alleged lack of ethics by the latter when nothing of the kind was reported or occurred.

10) Falsely by innuendo linking a 2009 arrest of organ traffickers in New Jersey, including Jews, and events in Israel from 1992, including alleged organ theft.

Please contact us if any of this is unclear and we look forward to redress of the material errors identified.

Yours truly,

Forced Islamization of Christian Conscripts in the Egyptian Army

From Former Muslims United:

Even less radical countries like Egypt, have a zero tolerance policy for former Muslims and non-Muslims, such as the Christian Copt minority. They are often threatened and killed by Muslims who are never arrested or prosecuted. Outright murder by several gun shot wounds is not reported as murder to mourning Christian families. Please read this AINA news report to understand these tragedies that befall Coptic Christian families daily in Egypt.

Forced Islamization of Christian Conscripts in the Egyptian Army

Mistreatment of Christian conscripts in the Egyptian army, including beatings, psychological harassment and torture, at the hands of radical Muslim officers to force them to convert to Islam is widespread, but is rarely reported by conscripts for fear of reprisals.

In the latest incident, 22-year-old draftee Mubarak Masood Zakaria, a Coptic Christian, died in mysterious circumstances on August 15, 2009. Three days after his death the police in Mallawi summoned his father, Masood Zakaria, to inform him of his son's "sudden death" of "natural causes," and give him the body and burial permission. "We were not allowed to see the body," said the father, who works as a rope spinner and lives under the poverty line, in the Upper Egyptian village of Deir Abu Hennes, Mallawi, in Al-Minya Governorate.

Although the death certificate stated "cause of death still under investigation," permission for burial was granted.

On their way to the church for the funeral ceremony, the odor from Mubarak's corpse was so offensive the Zakaria family and some mourners decided to inspect the body before its burial. They discovered that Mubarak's body was riddled with bullets, his face was bruised and his abdomen was cut open and sewn.

The military prosecutor in Assiut summoned the father several days after the burial and tried to explain to him how his son shot himself during his sleep, with the weapon that was with him, reported Ms Nermine Reda, correspondent for Copts United advocacy.

The father believes that there is foul play, because his son was always complaining of ill-treatment by his superiors because of his religion "My son sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and what the persecutor told me is illogical," he told Ms. Reda

A mourner at the funeral voiced his fears that the booming clandestine human organs trafficking in Egypt could have found a new source of supply in poor Copts serving in the Egyptian army. "Why was his abdomen cut open and sewn if no autopsy was carried out. I believe they admitted him to hospital for a few hours to examine the state of his internal organs for harvesting."

He explained that conscripts who are targeted for enforced Islamization are those who have no school education and come from the villages, mostly from Upper Egypt; their families are poor and easily intimidated by the authorities should their sons be harmed. They have no awareness of how to seek human rights organizations or the means to pursue their grievances further.

Army officers have been previously accused by Coptic activists, based on documented evidence, of subjecting Christian draftees to persecution and extreme torture leading sometimes to their death, as a way to force them to convert to Islam.

One of these cases was that of Hany Seroufim, a Coptic draftee serving in the Egyptian army in Aswan, who was tortured and killed in August 2006, after refusing to convert to Islam. His body was thrown into the Nile near his home town Naga Hamadi. His family was told by the army that he drowned. Marks of torture covered his whole body, with the cross tattooed on his arm cut out with a knife.

Earlier, Hani had told his family that the unit commanding officer always humiliated and tortured him in front of his peer soldiers, because Hani was a Christian. When he asked him blatantly to convert to Islam, Hani refused and told him he would notify the military intelligence, to which the officer threatened Hany with revenge.

Pressure from Coptic advocacy groups forced the state to perform an autopsy nearly four months later but the results were inconclusive because of the lapse of time and the state of the corpse. Christian organizations were able to obtain photos of Hany's tortured body. Recordings of his family's testimony were obtained and aired by the Ameican CBN News. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVSt-EYwjrA

Coptic activist Wagih Yacoub said that his advocacy, Middle East Christian Association, will sponsor the case of Mubarak Masood Zakaria and that top attorney Mamdouh Nakhla, head of the Al-Kalema Human Rights Center will handle the case.

The death of Mubarak leaves many unanswered questions, including the extent of collusion between the different authorities, including the prosecution, to cover-up the crime.

Polls of Muslims in Nigeria and other places

Quotes:

"In a poll conducted five months ago, and broadcast on Britain's Channel 4 TV, nearly 25% of British Muslims said the July 7, 2005, terror bombings in London, which killed 52 innocent commuters, were justified. Another 30% said they would prefer to live under strict Islamic Sharia law rather than England's democratic system."
...

"A survey published in December found that 44% of Nigerian Muslims believe suicide bombing attacks are "often" or "sometimes" acceptable. Only 28% said they were never justified.

According to the annual Pew Global Attitudes Survey, released in July 2006, "roughly one-in-seven Muslims in France, Spain and Great Britain feel that suicide bombings against civilian targets can at least sometimes be justified to defend Islam." The report also found that less than half of Jordan's Muslims believe terror attacks are never justified. In Egypt, only 45% of Muslims say terror is never justified."

...

"After Cpl. Gilad Shalit was abducted by Hamas terrorists last summer, a poll conducted by the Jerusalem Media and Communications Center revealed that 77.2% of Palestinians supported the kidnapping, while 66.8% said they would back additional such attacks.
More than six out of 10 Palestinians also said they were in favor of firing Kassam rockets at Israeli towns and cities.
And lest you think that war fever lay behind the results, consider this: four additional polls published in September, nearly a month after the Lebanese conflict had ended, all found large majorities of Palestinians backing terror attacks against the Jewish state."

...

"On the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, a survey conducted by Al-Jazeera asked respondents, "Do you support Osama Bin-Laden?" A whopping 49.9% answered: yes.

And the July 2006 global Pew survey found that among Muslims, a quarter of Jordanians, a third of Indonesians, 38% of Pakistanis and 61% of Nigerians all expressed confidence in the mass murderer who founded al-Qaida.[62]"

In Lebanon six months ago, the Beirut Center for Research and Information found that over 80% of the Lebanese population said they supported Hizbullah.

And do I need also to mention that a majority of Palestinians backed Hamas in parliamentary elections last year? Sure, there are also places where support for violent jihad is not as high. As Reuters reported on October 15, just 10 percent of Indonesian Muslims said they backed jihad and supported bomb attacks on the island of Bali aimed at foreign tourists."

Poll of Saudis

Poll of Saudis shows wide support for bin Laden's views

Almost half of all Saudis said in a poll conducted last year that they have a favorable view of Osama bin Laden's sermons and rhetoric, but fewer than 5 percent thought it was a good idea for bin Laden to rule the Arabian Peninsula.

The poll involved interviews with more than 15,000 Saudis and was overseen by Nawaf Obaid, a Saudi national security consultant.
It was conducted between August and November 2003, after simultaneous suicide attacks in May 2003 when 36 people were killed in Riyadh.

Obaid said he only recently decided to reveal the poll results because he felt the public needed to know about them.

"I was surprised [at the results], especially after the bombings," Obaid told CNN. The question put to Saudi citizens was "What is your opinion of Osama bin Laden's sermons and rhetoric?"

"They like what he said about what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. Or about America and the Zionist conspiracy. But what he does, that's where you see the huge drop," said Obaid, referring to the bombings that had already begun taking place inside Saudi Arabia at the time the poll was conducted.

He also said he would like to update the poll numbers in the wake of the recent series of terrorist attacks that have taken place in Saudi Arabia.

Forty-one percent said they favored strong and close relations with America, while only 39 percent said they had a favorable opinion of the Saudi armed forces, both results that Obaid also termed "surprising."

"They don't trust their army," said Obaid, who noted that the security forces fared far better.
He noted that less than a third of Saudis polled had a positive opinion of militant clerics, although government-appointed religious figures did better.

The poll showed strong support for political reforms and allowing women to play a greater role in society. Almost two-thirds said they favored allowing women to drive, something they are currently banned from doing

While support for political reforms, particularly elections, was high, few Saudis viewed liberal reformers with much favor.

Obaid said he shared the poll results -- some of which were published today in The Washington Post -- with members of the Interior and Foreign ministries, as well as the royal court.
Some were "a bit wary" about the questions, Obaid said, particularly the ones relating to bin Laden, but he received support from the government when he conducted the poll.

The margin of error was plus or minus three percentage points.

Quotes regarding demographics and Islam in the Netherlands

From The Brussels Journal:

Fingers in the Dyke: Dutch Fear Rising Ethnic Tensions
From the desk of Paul Belien on Sun, 2007-01-14 23:02

"In Amsterdam 55% of those under18 are immigrants, mainly Moroccan, Turkish or Antillean (West Indian). In Rotterdam the number has surpassed 50%. Everywhere this percentage is rising dramatically."

"There are 1 million Muslims on a total of 16 million inhabitants in the Netherlands. At over 6% of the population this is proportionally the largest Muslim immigrant population of all Western nations, except for France which has 6 million Muslims on a total of 60 million inhabitants. The Muslims are younger than the indigenous population and tend to be concentrated in the cities."

Stanley Sjöberg: Muslimer i Europa har "missionsuppdrag"

Från  Hemmets Vän:

Muslimer i Europa har "missionsuppdrag"
Angeläget
Publicerad: 2009-08-20

What Islam Isn't

What Islam Isn't
By: Dr. Peter Hammond
FrontPageMagazine.com
Monday, April 21, 2008
Link

The following is adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat:

Islam is not a religion nor is it a cult. It is a complete system.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic and military components. The religious component is a beard for all the other components.

Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called 'religious rights.'

When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to 'the reasonable' Muslim demands for their 'religious rights,' they also get the other components under the table. Here's how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book (2007)).
As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

United States -- Muslim 1.0%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1%-2%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.

They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. ( United States ).

France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- Muslim 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad &Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions ( Paris --car-burnings). Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats ( Amsterdam - Mohammed cartoons).

Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 10-15%

After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:

Albania -- Muslim 70%
Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide:

Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%
Egypt -- Muslim 90%
Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%
Iran -- Muslim 98%
Iraq -- Muslim 97%
Jordan -- Muslim 92%
Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan -- Muslim 97%
Palestine -- Muslim 99%
Syria -- Muslim 90%
Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%
Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace -- there's supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 99.9%

Of course, that's not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons.

'Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; and the tribe against the world and all of us against the infidel. – Leon Uris, 'The Haj'

It is good to remember that in many, many countries, such as France, the Muslim populations are centered around ghettos based on their ethnicity. Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. Therefore, they exercise more power than their national average would indicate.

Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life: 1.57 billion Muslims populate the world

From the BBC:

One in four is Muslim, study says

A report from an American think-tank has estimated 1.57 billion Muslims populate the world - with 60% in Asia.

The report, by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, took three years to compile, with census data from 232 countries and territories.

It showed that 20% of Muslims lived in the Middle East and North Africa.

The data also showed that there were more Muslims in Germany than in Lebanon, and more in Russia than in Jordan and Libya together.

Surprise

Researchers analysed approximately 1,500 sources including census reports, demographic studies and general population surveys.

Senior researcher Brian Grim told CNN that the overall figure was a surprise and said: "Overall, the number is higher than I expected."

The report, published on Wednesday, also found that Ethiopia has nearly as many Muslims as Afghanistan.

Amaney Jamal, an assistant professor of politics at Princeton University, told the AP news agency: "This whole idea that Muslims are Arabs and Arabs are Muslims is really just obliterated by this report."

Instead the report found that more than 300 million Muslims live in countries where Islam was not the majority religion.

Of the total Muslim population, 10-13% are Shia Muslims and 87-90% are Sunni Muslims.

Most Shias live in Iran, Pakistan, India and Iraq.

Europe is home to 38 million Muslims - around 5% of its population with European Muslims making up slightly more than 2% of the world's Muslim population.

More than half of the 4.6 million Muslims in the Americas live in the US - however they make up just 0.8% of the population there.

The Pew Forum has said the findings will lay the foundation for a forthcoming study that will look at how Muslim populations worldwide have grown and what they may look like in the future.

It also plans to compile figures for the other major world religions.

According to internet-based group, Adherents, there are currently 2.1 billion Christians, 900 million Hindus and 14 million Jews worldwide.

MUSLIM POPULATION BY REGION
  • Asia and the Pacific: 61.9%
  • Middle East - North Africa: 20.1%
  • Sub-Saharan Africa: 15.3%
  • Europe: 2.4%
  • Americas: 0.3%

Russia becoming a Muslim state?

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2006/nov/20/20061120-115904-9135r/?page=2

From the Washington Times:

Muslim birthrate worries Russia
Monday, November 20, 2006

Quotes:

MOSCOW -- Low domestic birthrates and rising immigration from the former Soviet republics are producing explosive growth in Russia's Muslim community, which is on a track to account for more than half the population by midcentury.

"Russia is going through a religious transformation that will be of even greater consequence for the international community than the collapse of the Soviet Union," said Paul Goble, a specialist on Islam in Russia and research associate at the University of Tartu in Estonia.

Two decades ago, the Sobornaya Mosque was the only Islamic house of worship allowed in the Soviet Union. It stood largely empty, filling only with the occasional large foreign delegation from an Islamic country.

Today, it is one of four mosques in Moscow serving a Muslim population of about 2.5 million. On Fridays and holy days, it overflows with worshippers, leaving many to kneel on newspapers outside, their foreheads pressed against the concrete.

...

Russia's Muslim community is extremely diverse, including Volga Tatars, the myriad ethnicities of the North Caucasus and newly arrived immigrants from Central Asia. But they all share birthrates that are far higher than Russia's ethnic Slavs, most of whom are Orthodox Christians.

Russia's overall population is dropping at a rate of 700,000 people a year, largely because of the short life spans and low birthrates of ethnic Russians. According to the CIA World Factbook, the national fertility rate is 1.28 children per woman, far below what is needed to maintain the country's population of nearly 143 million. The rate in Moscow is even lower, at 1.1 children per woman.

Russia's Muslims, however, are bucking that trend. The fertility rate for Tatars living in Moscow is six children per woman, Mr. Goble said, while the Chechen and Ingush communities are averaging 10 children per woman. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of Muslims from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have been flocking to Russia in search of work.

Russia's Muslim population has increased by 40 percent since 1989, to about 25 million. By 2015, Muslims will make up a majority of Russia's conscript army and by 2020 one-fifth of the population.

"If nothing changes, in 30 years, people of Muslim descent will definitely outnumber ethnic Russians," Mr. Goble said.

...

Western governments should encourage Russia to integrate Muslims into society and avoid discrimination, he said. "When Muslims are in the majority in Russia, they'll remember whether we spoke out for their rights or failed to."

Research Dismisses the Validity of Feminist Gender Studies

LINK

From MensNewsDaily (below is the complete text):

Research Dismisses the Validity of Feminist Gender Studies
Saturday, October 3, 2009
By Pelle Billing

If you are a regular reader of Men’s News Daily, then you probably have a good grasp of the many different ways that contemporary feminism can be criticized. Feminism tends to:

•use incorrect facts (eg. factoids about domestic violence)
•ignore correct facts (eg. research about innate sex differences)
•present men as guilty and women as victims, no matter what the issue at hand is
•elaborate about every tiny problem that women have while ignoring crucial men’s issues
The list could be made much longer, but you get the drift. There are lots of different ways to demonstrate how feminism rests on incorrect assumptions and how it leads to misandry and a skewed perception of reality.

However, a few months ago, a came across a whole new way of “undressing” feminism, that I hadn’t seen before. This new kind of criticism towards feminism came from Swedish researcher Helen Lindberg, who earlier this year presented her doctoral thesis called Only Women Bleed?: A Critical Reassessment of Comprehensive Feminist Social Theory.

In her thesis she has evaluated four different feminist theories, with regard to internal coherence, and their usefulness as theories in a research context. The feminist theories evaluated are:

1.Catharine M MackInnon’s Radical Feminism
2.Anna G Jonasdottir’s Theory of Love Power
3.Luce Irigaray’s Feminism of Sexual Difference
4.Judith Butler’s Queer Feminism

Radical feminism and elements of queer feminism together constitute what could be called postmodern or contemporary feminism, which means that her results are extremely interesting for anyone who’s critical of how feminism is affecting society. Furthermore, women’s study and gender study departments in universities around the world have radical feminism as their theoretical foundation, meaning that Lindberg’s research could be extremely embarrassing for them if she really is able to demonstrate that the theories they are founded on lack internal coherence and are unsuitable to use for research purposes.

The purpose of her doctoral thesis can be understood from her abstract:

Is there a viable specifically feminist social theory that can serve as heuristic devise in our social research? This thesis is a critical reassessment of the ontological and normative assumptions of four social theories with specific and clear claims of being feminist. [...]

The feminist social theories are examined and critically discussed according to their internal coherence and their external relevance; which includes the normative political implications that can be inferred.

Since the English abstract is pretty short and conservative, I will translate parts of the Swedish abstract, so you can see just how severe her criticism is:

The thesis demonstrates that these four feminist theories about society each turn out to be unsatisfactory as tools in social science research, since they rest on strong ideological premises and demonstrate a lack of internal consistency. Even though the theories appear to be different, they display two common theoretical weaknesses where one follows logically from the other. First of all, they all use structuralistic and therefore deterministic assumptions about the relationship between the individual and society, which leaves little room for individual agency and thinking, which in turn leaves little room for developing and changing society. The theories therefore display a theoretical and empirical ignorance of the multidimensionality of society and variance at the individual level. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the political goals and action plans that can be derived from the theories’ ideological and theoretical content, and finds that where they aren’t Utopia-like, they are unilaterally reduced to a monolithic identity or are normatively underdeveloped and unclear. Finally, the relationship between science, politics and ideology is problematized in a general way, and feminism as science, politics and ideology in a specific way. To be able to conduct social science research about gender relations–the author claims–it isn’t useful to use the examined feminist theories, since they are too ideological and theoretically underdeveloped. They should instead be judged and valued the same way other normative and ideological theories are, such as Marxism, especially when it comes to their critical role in defining problems and acting as guides in political practice.

The short version of what she’s saying is that using feminist theory as the basis for conducting research, is about as useful as using Marxist theory to conduct research. She also nullifies the standard feminist reply to criticism (”what branch of feminism are you criticizing?”) by demonstrating that each of the four branches of feminist theory examined have the same theoretical weaknesses.

This confirms what I’ve long been suspecting: gender studies are not a scientific discipline, they are a method for applying a certain ideology onto whatever data you collect during your “research”. Still, gender study departments around the world are allowed to teach generation after generation of women that men are evil oppressors, while hiding behind a respectable academic façade that they certainly do not deserve. How long will this charade go on?

Nutida Trojansk Häst: Al Hijra, Den Islamiska Doktrinen Immigration

Janet Levy recenserade boken i amerikanska American Thinker under titeln "The Hirja" och skriver då bl.a så här:
